Evenings at the School

Schools are learning communities—a place for teachers and students to partner in education. More than anything else, a high-quality school requires a committed partnership, and like all partnerships, there are often challenges. Too little challenge and the students don’t learn enough; too much challenge and students can become frustrated and stressed to the point where their learning suffers. At Epiphany, administrators understand the importance of maintaining this delicate balance, especially during traditional school hours. We also understand how important it is for students to enjoy coming to school, and we want friendships to flourish amid a relaxing and fun atmosphere on campus. Thus, we’ve created a culture of cocurricular activities and events that extends beyond daily classes into what can be informally referred to as “Evenings at the School.”

In the evenings, students frequently have a chance to visit with friends—and make new ones—outside the classroom. The administration carefully programs events that appeal to large numbers of students and occur throughout the year. Like other schools, Epiphany offers dances, but there are also “Movie Nights” where films are shown in the Performing Arts Center. There are musical shows and theater productions, a talent show and International Nights, sporting events and academic presentations, and a variety of other activities and events that sometimes make it feel as if the school never really closes!

These fun, stress-free evening activities allow all students to feel like members of the larger school community—all in a supervised, safe environment. These programs’ success is a testament to the many long hours and hard work contributed by our wonderful faculty and volunteers. The combination of faculty, volunteers, and students at these stimulating evenings is one of the many aspects that make The Epiphany School of Global Studies the uniquely close-knit environment that it is.
