Today we're sharing pictures from the Salzburg and Berchtesgaden day of our family trip with Epiphany. We watched "The Sound of Music" on the bus on the way to Salzburg, with the beautiful Alps as our backdrop. Once we arrived, we visited the famous spots from the movie in addition to the birthplace and residence of Mozart. After some souvenir shopping, we rode to the salt mine in Berchtesgaden, where visitors go to celebrate the uninterrupted 500-year mining of "white gold" from the depths of the Alps. We slid down two slides (110 feet and 140 feet into the shaft). We rode a boat on mirror lake, we took a fast train deep into the cave, and we learned how pumps and drills made salt mining more efficient through the 500-year history of the Petersberg tunnel.

Epiphany's Musical Theatre class is performing "Emma JV" this weekend (7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday). Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets will be available for sale at the door.

Epiphany family trips have returned in a BIG way! Thirty-four travelers (even three generations of one family) went to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein with EFTours over Spring Break. Each day this week, we'll show you the amazing experiences we had in all four countries. Please consider joining us for next year's family trip to Italy. These are memories you'll make with your family that will last a lifetime! Special thanks to Sandy Haddock, Director of Global Education, and Tahira Copland, Director of Admissions, for making this such an amazing experience. Today we'll share some pictures from Germany: Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Munich, and the Dachau Concentration Camp.

We were treated to three concerts this week! In addition to the NC Baroque Orchestra that we heard play this morning, our Instrumental classes and Concert Band/Choral Music groups performed for us on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We also saw a beautiful art show featuring the work of our visual arts students. Thanks to all who helped make this happen!

Our students and staff were treated to a beautiful concert by the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra this morning! Musicians played on original or reconstructed Baroque-period instruments. Between performances, the musicians showed students the differences in their instruments and modern instruments, and they explained why they were so different. At the end of the hour, students were allowed to ask questions. This was an incredible opportunity for our school! We learned so much, especially as we tied in music to the time period some of them are studying. Thank you to the NC Baroque Orchestra, Jenn Baer with Craven Community College, and our FOTA members for making this performance possible.

We are so proud of all 15 students who gave campaign speeches today as they ran for officer positions. We also heard a wonderful message about leadership from Mr. Seeger.

Here are a few pictures of Mr. Tart's Instrumental Music concert and the art show created by Mrs. Tomboulian's students on Tuesday night. Please join us for more fun this evening at 7 in the PAC on the Trent Campus - Mrs. Rosney's Choral Music ensembles and Concert Band will be performing. You'll also have another opportunity to see the beautiful artwork created by our visual arts students. We look forward to seeing you this evening at 7!

We'll have TWO concerts and art shows this week at Epiphany. Our Instrumental Music concert will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and our Choral Music and Concert Band program will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The doors will open at 6:30 each night for the art show in the rear foyer. Please join us! Admission is free.

Congratulations to our new Tri-M Music Honor Society members! We celebrated their induction with a ceremony and reception this morning. New inductees are Jack Arthur, Cadence Crowe, Alitza Grzeika-Nieves, Lily Huber, Nathan Huber, Parker Murphy, Bennett Sanborn, Pawry Shell, Amelia Singleton, and Caroline Strickland.

It's 'Music in Our Schools' month, and we are really celebrating at Epiphany. Our Chapel today was packed full of music - Pastor Kirk interviewed choral music/concert band instructor Mabel Rosney for his "Chapel Chat, Teacher Edition." Mrs. Rosney shared the message that you need to 'try everything, try anything' along your journey through life, even if you fail at times. We were also entertained by Mr. Spence on fiddle and Mr. Tart on guitar. The grand finale consisted of two more lip sync battle performances. We also reminded everyone to join us Saturday night for the Trent Campus Talent Show at 7 p.m. Come support our artists and performers!

Representatives from Epiphany's administrative staff and faculty, board members, parents, and students presented a program about the many great things happening at our school to Carteret County families at Dank Burrito in Morehead City last night. We are excited to announce we'll be offering transportation from Morehead to Epiphany (with a stop in Havelock) starting in the Fall of 2023. Thank you to everyone who attended. We also want to thank students Peyton Hall and Bennett Sanborne for speaking so beautifully about their experiences here at Epiphany. And a huge thank you goes to the Merrell family for allowing us to use their delicious restaurant as our meeting space. If you are a Carteret County family who wants to learn more about our school and our transportation options, please contact Tahira Copland, Director of Admissions, at 252-638-0122, ext. 682. Our classes are filling up quickly!

Save the date: Epiphany's Middle and Upper School Talent Show will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 25th, in the PAC.

Three of our International Thespian Society members competed in the NC Thespian Festival this weekend at ECU. All three earned an "excellent" score in their categories. Congratulations to Sophie Oliver for her vocal performance of "Pulled" from The Addams Family, Zabby Memering for the scene designs she created for the musical "Waitress," and Tucker Newton for his original screenplay, "Detective File #7149. Special thanks to Brennecke Farrar for helping stage Tucker's play in front of the judges today. We're already looking forward to next year's competition!

The N.C. Department of Transportation's Division of Aviation hosts the North Carolina Aviation Art Contest each year to inspire and engage young people in aviation. The contest theme for 2023 is “Air Sports & The Environment." The contest offers children ages 6-17 who live or attend schools in North Carolina the chance to explore different aspects of aviation. Many of Epiphany's visual arts students placed in the competition this year. Quarterfinalists: Diana Algharaibeh, Darby Donahue, Emilie Friesen, Kathryn Griggs, Sophia Husted, Esther Ku, Jasmin Livingston, Zabby Memering, Pawry Shell, Alistair Smith, Leah Standen, and Paw Thah. Semifinalists: Arielle Pumphrey and Angelique Pysden. We had one student reach the finalist level: Ann Lawson King. Her mixed media piece, "Soaring Mountains," is seen here. Congratulations to all who participated and to all who placed!

Epiphany students: how did you spend your enrichment week? We want to see and share your adventures! If you went somewhere far away, worked on service hours, or even created something amazing during a staycation, send us a picture. We may feature it in a slideshow. Please send your photo to Dare Oliver at doliver@epiphanyglobalschool.org by Sunday.

The Epiphany School of Global Studies is a proud sponsor of Empty Bowls, an uplifting event that unites businesses, religious and civic groups, professional and amateur potters, and restaurants as collective creative energies make a difference in the lives of others. Money raised at the event goes to local stop-hunger charities and arts programming in Craven County. In addition to sponsoring, many Epiphany students and teachers donated their time today serving soup, welcoming guests, and unloading bowls. Helping others in our community is the perfect way to wrap up our enrichment week.

The Lower School Talent Show last night was a blast! We were entertained by magicians, instrumentalists, funny emcees, vocalists, and a gymnast. Epiphany parent Marisa McDonald captured these beautiful images for us. Check out her site at https://marisamcdonaldphotography.com if you want to see more of her work.

Save the date for the Epiphany gala! We'll be throwing a Southern Soiree on Saturday, May 13, at the Trent Campus.

It's almost showtime! Please join us for the Lower School Talent Show at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday night. We can't wait to watch our little falcons shine onstage! The fourth grade will be selling concessions during intermission, so please bring cash if you would like to support them. See you Thursday night!
