Founded in 2006 by Nicholas and Catherine Sparks, TESGS is an independent school with a high calling, providing a globally focused education along with character development in a learning community for K-12 students. Cross-cultural and interdisciplinary studies, outdoor education, creative and performing arts, and service learning are the heart of what we do at TESGS.
The Board of Trustees, Head of School, and other key administrators have designed a first-in-kind, fully comprehensive program of global studies that provides students with the knowledge and experiences to make them uniquely qualified to succeed in the future.

The Epiphany School of Global Studies is comprised of two campuses in the heart of New Bern, North Carolina, near the intersection of Highways 70 and 17. Our original campus site on Henderson Avenue opened in 2006, and the Trent Road Campus began serving students in 2012. The campuses are located a quarter of a mile apart, making drop-off and pick-up easy, even if families have students at both campuses. The Henderson Avenue Campus serves students in kindergarten through 5th grade, and the Trent Road Campus serves Middle and Upper School students in 6th-12th grade.
The leadership at TESGS champions our faculty’s individual approaches to teaching and mentoring. We encourage our teachers to develop their own educational styles as they strive for excellence, and support their efforts through professional development. But most of all, we embrace their successes as the school lives out its Guiding Principles and Mission/Vision. While the Head of School and Director of Finance oversee large-scale strategy and planning, the Directors focus on achieving particular goals of students and teachers. Our respective directors work together to successfully broaden the educational opportunities for students at The Epiphany School of Global Studies.
