Applying to Kindergarten

Start the process by submitting a Student Inquiry Form on our website, after which you will be promptly contacted by the Admissions Office.

o   Tour/Informational Visit

There is no better way to get a sense of who we are than to spend time within our school community.   Reach the Admissions Office at 252.638.0122 ext. 124 or 125, or send an email [email protected]

o   Application

Our online application process is straightforward and secure.  You can access the application on our website and conveniently start, stop, and return to the application at any time.

The recently reduced application fee of $135 is payable online upon submission.

o   Teacher Evaluation or General Evaluation

A confidential teacher evaluation is requested of the applicant’s preschool teacher.  A general evaluation from someone well-acquainted with your child is appropriate for those applicants not attending preschool.  Evaluation forms are sent directly to the email address of the recommender provided by you on the online application.

o   Kindergarten Readiness Assessment

The Director of the Lower School, Dr. Heather French, or a kindergarten classroom teacher, will use a variety of activities to assess each applicant for developmental readiness for kindergarten either on campus or virtually.

o   Enrollment

Admissions decisions and enrollment contracts are sent following a successful assessment, as space allows.
