In addition to a wide range of extracurricular activities and clubs, Epiphany students also have the opportunity to participate in our highly competitive athletic programs. Students learn the value of competition and working as a team to achieve more than they could on their own. Epiphany proudly offers 17 varsity teams for students to choose from. Many of our teams are regular contenders for the state championship, and often our student-athletes are selected for individual honors yearly.
We find it vitally important that every student has the opportunity to compete at a high level. This means that every student who wishes to compete on an athletic team and is willing to adhere to the Scholar-Athlete’s Code is able to participate. Additionally, the coaches of each sport work diligently to balance a number of educational values and team goals when allocating playing time, and we expect a coach’s decisions to be honored by students and parents.
Participation in the athletic program is not a right; it is a privilege. Therefore, it is imperative that all students participating in the athletic program understand and follow the Scholar-Athlete’s Code. Additionally, scholar-athletes must recognize that the coaches, along with the athletic director and the school’s administration, have the right to remove sporting privileges should the scholar-athlete fail to adhere to the following standards:
In accordance with our Scholar-Athlete Code, all of the expectations are read and signed by the prospective scholar-athlete as well as by the parent or guardian of the prospective student-athlete.
